Pleasantdale Middle School aims to support students, families, and community members both in and outside of school. In today's world, we know this includes supporting students with making safe choices online. It is our hope that the resources below will provide parents with tools to guide conversations with their children about making positive choices related to social media and device usage. This website, powered by National Cyber Security Alliance, provides tips for "Raising Good Digital Citizens." There are also additional resources related to cyberbullying, parental controls, and gaming tips.
The American Pediatric Association's website HealthyChildren.Org has a RadioMD segment related to teens and social media. The recording is 10 minutes and is entitled "Teens and Social Media: Guidance for Parents."
The Family Online Safety Institute provides helpful resources related to "good digital parenting". Videos, tip sheets, blogs, and additional resources are readily available to help parents talk with their kids about online safety and making positive choices online.

Digizen is a website that provides information for educators, parents, carers, and young people. It is used to strengthen their awareness and understanding of what digital citizenship is and encourages users of technology to be and become responsible DIGItal citiZENS. It shares specific advice and resources on issues such as social networking and cyberbullying and how these relate to and affect their own and other people's online experiences and behaviors.
